Message to Families attending CHI hospitals

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is continuing to review the situation resulting from HSE having to shut down IT systems following a Cyber Attack nationally.

As we do not have access to our CHI IT systems, we want to update you with what we are planning for early next week.

It is with sincere regret that we cannot now run our scheduled services for patients on Monday, 17th May and Tuesday, 18th May 2021.

Please note the following:

Impacted Services:

·         All elective inpatient and day cases are cancelled for Monday/Tuesday

·         All outpatient public and private clinics are cancelled for Monday/Tuesday

Non Impacted Services:

·         Clinically urgent inpatient and day care treatments (such as cancer, haematology, dialysis, cardiac) will take place on Monday/Tuesday.  These patients will be contacted directly by the hospitals to attend their scheduled appointments.

·         All CHI fracture trauma clinics will run as normal so please attend your appointment.

Emergency Departments & Urgent Care Centre

As we head into the weekend we are asking all families if their child’s care is not urgent to help us by only attending if your child needs emergency or urgent care.  We would like to reassure parents and families that our Emergency Departments are open.

This is a continuously changing situation and CHI will review and issue further updates on our websites and social media channels.

Thank you for your support and we ask our families for their co operation during this time.

Unfortunately only limited Information can be provided – Please only make contact if urgent.

Please note – limited access to ICT systems means limited access to Patient Information. Please bear with us. Thank you for understanding.

HSE Cyber Attack Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is working with the HSE to determine the impact on patient data. CHI will update this notice as more information becomes available.
