CHI at Tallaght feature collaborative art project with Rua Red

CHI Arts in Health

Seeds is a collaborative art project with Rua Red (arts centre in Tallaght), artist Niamh Hannaford and students of St Mark’s school Tallaght to make a series of artworks that would welcome children and young people to the new CHI Emergency Care Unit in Tallaght.

In October, the artist hosted paper making workshops in which students made paper with flower / fruit / veg seed embedded. The students screen printed and painted images of nature on the paper.

The final artworks are now displayed in a series of bespoke frames designed by the social enterprise ‘We Make Good’ and made by PALLS Limerick. (www. https://www.palls.ie/), a training centre for people involved in the probation service and criminal justice system in Limerick. The artworks in these frames can be easily changed for the display of other children’s and young people’s artwork in the future.

The Seeds artworks can be returned to the students at St Marks for planting in their community garden.
