Message to Families attending Children’s Health Ireland Hospitals. 25th June – to 28th June 2021.
Message to Families attending Children’s Health Ireland Hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Blanchardstown (CHI at Connolly).
Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is continuing to review the situation resulting from a national cyber attack on health IT systems.
We still do not have access to all our IT systems to function normally. We have limited access to a few systems but not enough to provide normal services.
We understand this is distressing for families of our services and our staff.
We still ask that you please do not attend our hospitals in Crumlin or Temple Street for an out-patient or admission unless you are contacted.
A sincere thank you for the efforts being made and we ask for your co-operation for the remainder of this week.
Emergency Departments & Urgent Care Centre
We would like to reassure parents and families that our Emergency Department at CHI at Crumlin, CHI at Temple Street, CHI at Tallaght and CHI at Connolly (Urgent Care Centre) are open.
As there are manual processes in place, we will be slower than normal seeing our patients.
We are asking all families if their child’s care is not urgent to help us by only attending if your child needs emergency or urgent care.
CHI at Connolly: 25th to 28th June 2021.

Data Protection Office Update
Data Protection Office Update
Please note that limited access to ICT systems means limited access to patient information. Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is working with the HSE to determine the impact of patient data regarding the HSE cyber attack.
We have reported the cyber attack to the Data Protection Commission in line with our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts.
Identified personal data breaches will be investigated and notified in accordance with GDPR requirements.
No evidence of scams linked to cyber attack
Scams involving personal data are common and can happen at any time. There is no evidence that recently reported scams are linked to the cyber attack affecting CHI systems. Criminals can still take advantage of the fact that a cyber attack has occurred to target individuals and the public are urged to remain vigilant to this possibility.
Read advice from FraudSMART on how to protect yourself from fraud.
CHI will update this notice as more information becomes available.
