Biography
Dr Oketah completed her general Paediatric Basic and Higher Specialist Training in Ireland before completing a clinical fellowship post in adolescent medicine at the University College London Hospital (UCLH) Treatment and Rehabilitation of Adolescents and Children with Complex conditions Service (TRACCS).
She has a particular interest in holistic care of young people with a special interest in the interplay between physical and mental health presentations. Her other interests are in medical education and quality improvement. She currently sits on the International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH) council and on the mental health committee for the Society of Adolescent health and Medicine (SAHM).
Research Interests
Dr Oketah has broad clinical and research interests in adolescent health including emerging mental health difficulties, functional disorders, medical management of eating disorders, post-viral fatigue /chronic fatigue syndrome and transition of adolescents with chronic illness to adult care.
