Children Health Ireland light up for the festive season 2022

• CHI at Temple Street was 150 years old in November 2022 so special focus on this historic anniversary to switch on thousands of low energy sparkling lights that adorn the façade of the building. 
• Lighting up special Guests; Rugby international star and TV broadcaster Jamie Heaslip will support CHI patient Sarah Jane Pearse (13) from Co. Clare and Santa himself to switch on the lights outside at CHI Temple Street
• Singing special Guest; Saoibh Lonergan (10) from Waterford who featured on the Late Late Toy Show November 26th this year wil be performing live her own song, Raining Rainbows, with her music therapist Alison Sweeney in CHI at Temple Street.
• Children’s Health Foundation is urging the public to make a special Christmas donation this year to support CHI’s vital and life-saving work and help get kids back to being kids by visiting www.childrenshealth.ie/donate

 1st December 2022: Christmas has arrived for sick children in our children’s hospitals and emergency unit and urgent care centre, with the help of a few familiar faces, including Santa himself. CHI at Temple Street kicked off the celebrations today across Children’s Health Ireland. The lighting up for Christmas continues all week with support from Children’s Health Ireland patients and Children’s Health Foundation Ambassadors:

• 1st December. The turning on the lights in CHI at Temple Street will take place with Children’s Health Foundation Ambassador and former Irish Rugby star TV broadcaster Jamie Heaslip.
•  2nd December CHI at Crumlin Christmas event will be supported by Children’s Health Foundation Ambassador and former Irish Rugby star Rob Kearney 
• 5th December CHI at Tallaght will welcome Children’s Health Foundation Ambassador and RTE’s Ultimate Hell Week Presenter Ray Goggins
•  6th December CHI at Connolly will welcome Children’s Health Foundation Ambassador and TV Builder Brand Ambassador Peter Finn

The event in CHI at Temple Street was once again made possible thanks to the kind supporters of Children’s Health Foundation, whose generous donations ensure the magic of Christmas is brought to the patients of CHI at Temple Street each year.

 Eilísh Hardiman, Chief Executive, Children’s Health Ireland said, “It’s difficult having a sick child in hospital at any time but especially over the Christmas period. Our staff work hard to share the festive spirit with these families. Thanks to them and our charity partner Children’s Health Foundation’s sponsors and ambassadors, we are fortunate enough to provide moments of festive cheer for patients, families and staff across Children’s Health Ireland’s hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght and our Urgent Care Centre at Connolly Hospital. Switching on the Christmas lights is one of these moments. In truth, it all helps in bringing the magic of Christmas to these children and families at this time of year”.
