Children's Health Ireland launches new Scoliosis Information Hub for patients and families:
Children's Health Ireland’s Spinal Surgery Management Unit has today launched a new Scoliosis Information Hub for patients and families.

The hub can be found at www.childrenshealthireland.ie/scoliosishub and currently includes:
- Guide to Scoliosis
- Guide to Spinal Surgery in CHI
- Guide to Spinal Surgery Abroad USA/ UK
- Guide to Halo Gravity Traction
Mr David Moore, Head of the Spinal Service Management Unit, said:
“These new educational guides have been developed in collaboration with our spinal Clinical Nurse Specialist teams, patients and families, and the Patient Panel for spinal services. We hope they will become a valuable educational asset, and all families will be made aware of the information throughout their clinical appointments. Thank you to all of the families who shared their experiences and to members of the Patient Panel for Spinal Services for their collaboration.”
Mum, Claire, of spinal patient, Finn, said:
“These guides will be an amazing help for children to have throughout their treatment. Finn was delighted to be involved, and we hope that our experience will help other families in the same boat”.
The scoliosis information hub also includes links to information about hospital admission, staying in hospital, general anaesthesia, and waiting list information. The hub will be further developed to include educational videos about scoliosis and spinal surgery.
