News, Service updates

Patients should attend their appointments as normal unless they are contacted directly by the hospital.

Children’s Health Ireland has been notified of national industrial action by the Medical Laboratory Scientists Association on Tuesday 24 May 2022. This means that our medical laboratories will not be running business as usual on this day of industrial action, and testing of bloods and other tests will not be widely available at our hospitals; Connolly, Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght. This strike will run from 8am – 8pm each day and will impact all areas of scheduled care including outpatients, inpatients and day cases.

Time sensitive and critically urgent testing for children who attend in an emergency or who are inpatient, will be facilitated.

Patients should attend their appointments as normal unless they are contacted directly by their hospital.

There will be impacts on services during this strike but we urge parents to bring their children to their nearest Emergency Department or Urgent Care Centre if they need Emergency or Urgent Care.

Critically urgent testing for children who attend in an emergency or who are inpatient, will be facilitated.
